Marilyn Locklear

Ms. Marilyn Locklear, 61, of 615 Moss Neck Rd, Lumberton, NC went to be with Jesus on September 12, 2017. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Genora Locklear, grandparents, Lawrence and Emma Revels Maynor, Emily Dial and Wille Brayboy, five brothers, Ronald Dean, Jerry, Doyle Raymond, Bobby Dean and Martin Luther Locklear, seven sisters, Regina, Beverly, Cecelia, Annie Lee, Jean, Jessie Lois Locklear and Jacqueline Palaski.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her children, Tremayne Locklear (Sonda) of Boiling Springs, SC, Tisha Locklear (Matt) of Lumberton and Jessica Locklear (Gary Jones) of Pembroke, her grandchildren, Tremayne Jr., Sapora, Tre’, Kade and Clayton Locklear and Gavin and Gigi Jones, her brothers, Donald, Roosevelt Jr. (Sheryl), Michael and Mitchell (Melanie) Locklear, her sisters, Maxine (Doug) Hunt, Mesca (Carlie) Locklear and Maria Jones all of Pembroke, her very special friends, Belinda Harris, Patsy Locklear, Brenda Mitchell, Susan Revels and Bonnie Sampson, a host of relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Gibson Cancer Center (Lymphoma Area).

Marilyn worked at LRDA for 20 years as a Grants Writer, Adult Education and Housing Manager. She also worked 2 and half years for the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina as a Grants Writer and Procurement Director. Marilyn loved to travel.  She traveled to 35 states and one other country (Mexico). Marilyn battled cancer three times, had a pace maker implanted and yet she still tried to help everyone she could. Her family has peace in knowing that she will not have to endure anymore pain and chemotherapy.  Her soul is in Heaven and she is HAPPY!
