Margie Ree Barton Graham, 92, of 2904 Anne Street, Lumberton, entered her eternal resting place on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Southeastern Hospice House with family and friends. She was born in Robeson County on January 2, 1926 to Mr. Fernie and Mrs. Lousiana Barton.
Mrs. Graham is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Fernie (1978) and Mrs. Lousiana (1983) Barton; her husband Mr. Sanford Graham (1988); her son, Mr. Kermit Graham (2009); her sister, Ms. Mauree Barton (1925); her brother, Mr. Thurman Barton (1933); her sister, Mrs. Sallie Mae Lowry (1964); her sister, Mrs. Nettie Ruth Toby (1996); her brother, Mr. Stafford Barton (2002); her sister, Mrs. Catherine Locklear (2002); her sister Mrs. Dosha Jacobs (2008) and a son-in-law, Mr. Kenneth Carter (2015).
She was the eldest of 14 children born to Mr. Fernie & Mrs. Lousiana Barton. She was a Mother, Sister, Grandma, Aunt, Sister-in-law and Friend. At the young age of 18 years old, Mrs. Graham gave her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and served him diligently up until her death. She was a lifetime member of Deep Branch Baptist Church, Lumberton, NC.
Mrs. Graham is survived by her son, Mr. Jimmie Graham of Rowland; a daughter, Mrs. Millise Graham Carter of Lumberton; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Barbara Graham of Lumberton; Seven grand-daughters and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Graham is also survived by her siblings, Mr. Herman Teddy (Mary Katie) Barton of Pembroke; Mr. Donell (Shelvie) Barton of Augusta, GA; Mr. Bernell Barton of Glen Burney, MA; Mr. Leon (Pauline) Barton of Augusta, GA; Mr. Fernie Barton, Jr. of Pembroke; Mr. Reedy Barton of Augusta, GA and Mrs. Vashtie Locklear of Lumberton; and a very special nephew, JP Williams of Aurora, Co; along with nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
