Evelyn Gearl Locklear

Evelyn Gearl Locklear, 81, of Pembroke, NC, departed this life on earth to be with Jesus on November 7, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.

To know Evelyn was to love her.  She can best be described as Humble & Kind.  Evelyn was devoted to her family as a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was always on the move cleaning her home or working in the yard.  Her favorite quotes were “I’m just been a doing” or “Well, Well, Well”.  Well today Evelyn we can say, “You Have Done Well”.

Evelyn, was born November 9, 1935 to the late Stanley and Carabell Locklear.  She is preceded in death by brothers Charlie Locklear, Delton Locklear, Stanley Locklear Jr., and sisters Velma Edwards, Thelma Locklear, and Shirley Locklear.

She leaves to cherish her memories Nieces she thought of as her daughters Iola L. Woodell (Hilton), Krystin Taylor Woodell (whom she considered her baby), and Belinda Porter (Dell).  Her sisters Lee Ila Oxendine (Jimmie), Ann Sue Brewington, and a sister-in-law Clella Locklear.  Brothers Daniel Locklear (Alice), and Milton Ray Locklear, brother-in-law’s Lloyd Edwards and Lawrence Locklear.  She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Special thanks to her caregivers Brittany Locklear, Kimberly Locklear, and Healthkeeperz Hospice.
