Betty Chavis

Ms. Betty L. Chavis, 76, of 70 Dans Drive, Maxton, NC, was born on April 22, 1940 to the late Mr. Chesley and Mary Bell Oxendine. She departed this life on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Chavis and three sons, Vernon Oxendine, Robert Chavis and Carlton Ray Chavis.

Ms. Betty leaves to cherish her memories, her three daughters, Roberta Chavis (Rondell) of Red Springs, Janet Gibson (David) of the home and Jennifer C. Johnson (Hank) of Maxton; one son, Christopher Chavis of the home; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Lela Bell Hunt of Summerfield; four brothers, Ronald Ray Oxendine of Fairmont, Charlie Oxendine of Lumberton, Michael Oxendine of Maxton and James D. Oxendine of Huntersville, NC and a host of family and friends.
